Difference Maker: Mike Vodicka

Recognizing the Difference Makers Among Us
At Farmers Cooperative, our employees live out our core values every day - often without expecting recognition. Their dedication to our patrons and the communities we serve is something we're proud of. With so many locations and team members, these moments of outstanding service don't always get the spotlight they deserve.
That's why we rolled out our Difference Maker employee recognition program. This initiative gives employees the opportunity to recognize their peers for going above and beyond - those who step up, solve problems, and make a real impact.
Congratulations to Mike Vodicka, Service Station Manager in Dorchester, on being nominated as a Difference Maker.
Going Above and Beyond During the Storm
During the winter storm on March 19, 2025, Dorchester - and nearly all surrounding communities - lost power. With no electricity, none of the fuel pumps in the area were operational. As a result, the state department was unable to fuel its trucks, which were critical to serving the community during the storm.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Mike took it upon himself to find a solution. He located one of our fuel trucks in Milford and, without being asked, drove through the blizzard conditions to retrieve it. Mike then brought the truck back to Dorchester, allowing the state vehicles to refuel and get back on the road to assist the community.
Mike didn't wait for direction - he saw a serious need and acted. His quick thinking, initiative, and knowledge made a direct and meaningful impact, not only for our customers but for the entire community.
